My dad
My Dad is incredible. He is the definition of what a happy person is. Someone so happy, so honest, smart, wise, and true to himself.
I feel like the way Dad just didn’t care what other people thought was the most powerful of his many superpowers. It allowed him to stand up for his values, values I think everyone should strive to have. Dad always knew what he wanted, and it was never a lot. He valued love, family, connection, experiences, “giving it a shot”, helping others and the environment. He is someone who was built by habits he chose.
Dad made it seem so easy to get things done. He volunteered at every chance he could, painting my house, sporting events and just showing up; he never failed to deliver on the things he chose to commit to.
His way of loving was silly, sarcastic and fun. He wasn’t afraid to state the obvious, even if it may not have been appropriate (but he always got away with it). Once he sent me a postcard and all it said was “love ya!!”. It has been stuck on my fridge ever since.
Dad was a risk taker at times but he was so clever, everything was always calculated. If he had decided to do something, you knew he had weighed all options and done the math; he was great at finding the best deals.
I miss my Dad. I love you Dad, the world will remember your kind heart.
Love you forever, Hayden xxx
