In memory of Vic

Leave the world better than you found it.

We can all do something to leave the world a better place.

  • Pick it up
  • Become an organ donor
  • Conserve resources

Why we started this

Vic was exceptional because he wanted to make as small a footprint on the globe as humanly possible, and he did.

How it works

How to take part

Small actions make a real difference.

  1. 1. See it

Notice where doing something small would make a difference.

  2. 2. Do it

Go the extra step, even if it takes a bit more time or effort.

  3. 3. Know it

Know that your contribution has made the world a better place.

  4. 4. Share it

I picked some up today

7 quiet acts shared so far

The difference Vic made was probably invisible to most, but collectively through the years it would have been a huge improvement, and we can too.

How points work

Safety first

Quiet acts matter.

Meet Vic

Dad was extraordinary because he made it his mission to do the right thing. His actions would have been invisible to most.

Vic standing on a gravel track in a sunny mountain valley, hands on hips; two walkers are further along the track behind him.

Occasionally he’d have to go back with his car because the rubbish was just too big.

Vic smiling with his arm around a woman in a floral top, both in black puffer jackets, beside a quiet road at dusk.
Vic in a sun hat with two younger companions on a rocky summit, cloud and mountains behind them.

As a family we’d like to honour Vic by sharing his wisdom with the world.

Make the world a better place

Carry it forward

How to make a difference.Ideas to make a difference.

  • Walk or ride somewhere instead of drive.
  • Take the stairs 2 at a time.Vic was all about finding different ways that you could build extra exercise. He would carry the shopping bags in at the same time, so that he could get that extra weight for strength training.
  • Bring your recycling bags when you shop.
  • Have a short shower.
  • Become an organ donor.
  • Turn the lights off if you don’t really need them.
  • Plant a seed to grow some vegetables.
  • Volunteer for an hour.
  • And if you see some rubbish, pick it up and dispose of it the right way.

You didn’t need to know Dad to change the world.

Ran down the road to pick up this bad boy. Normally would have let it float on by!
